Australian authorities have called off the search for a four-year-old child who has been disappeared in the wilderness for almost three weeks, after renewed operations failed to discover any evidence of the child.

The young boy was observed engaging near his residence on a secluded sheep station in the vicinity of Yunta, about 186 miles from Adelaide, on late September.

His grandparent briefly departed for about thirty minutes before looking for him, only to discover the youngster missing, prompting one of the largest comprehensive searches in local history.

Latest Situation

Authorities - who do not think there was criminal activity - say they will carry on examining, but that the matter has become a "search for recovery".

Last week, authorities temporarily reduced the operation, only to resume it on recently alongside 80 Australian Defense Force staff.

"Spokesperson authorities said police were looking a more extensive region based on new analyses from survival and rescue professionals, rather than any fresh leads."
